Ever since my baby was born I had been looking forward to taking him for his first haircut at Zusso Kids hair salon. It always looked like so much fun with the car-chairs and toys!!

Well, this exciting day finally arrived! With the weather getting warmer and my baby starting nursery school, we decided today was the day to get his hair cut. I took him to the Zusso at Futako-Tamagawa and he absolutely loved it! Each child has their own car, AND gets their own TV screen with a DVD of their choice (which serves not only as entertainment, but also keeps their heads straight and still for the haircut!).

Step by Step – first haircut at Zusso’s:

1. Book in advance – Zusso’s gets VERY busy, so make sure you call and go there a few days in advance to make a booking. If it is your baby’s first haircut since birth, they may ask if you want to keep your baby’s hair as a momento. It seems this is common in Japan!
2. Play – there is a box of toys that your baby can play with while you are waiting your turn.
3. Seatbelt – when the hairdresser puts your baby in the car, the first thing they will do is put your baby’s seatbelt on.
4. Gown – a towel and plastic gown will be draped around your baby to keep the hair off his/her clothes.
5. DVD – there is a wide range of DVD’s to choose from. Try and choose something that will keep your baby mesmerized for the haircut! I chose a train DVD as my baby LOVES trains!
6. Haircut – the salon has kids hair magazines to help you choose a style for your baby. Remember Japan LOVES layering, so be very specific if you don’t want your baby’s hair layered or if you have a particular style in mind!
7. Shampoo – I didn’t think my baby would like this, but he was fine! The hairdressers are very experienced and quick.
8. Blow dry – again, my baby usually hates having his hair blow dried at home, but he didn’t seem to mind at Zusso’s! Of course, it helps that he was sitting in his own car and watching his favourite DVD on his own personal TV screen!! Haha

Finished! What a wonderful experience. I will definitely be taking my baby back there again for his next haircut!!

うちのベビーが生まれてからというもの、さていつZusso Kidsに連れて行って髪を切ろうかと楽しみにしていました。ここは、車の椅子やおもちゃなどとても楽しそうな場所なのです！

ついに、そのときを迎えることができました!気温も暖かくなってきたし、保育園に入るし、と思い立って髪を切りにいってきました。二子玉川にあるお店に連れて行ったのですが、思惑通り、ベビーもとても気に入ったみたい! みんな自分の車にのって、そこには好きなDVDが見れる画面があって(楽しめるのはもちろん、髪を切っている間おとなしくさせておくのにも効果的!).

Zussoでの初めてのヘアカットのステップ:

1. 予約 – Zussoはとても人気店なので、必ず事前に予約を入れるようにしましょう。もし、生まれてから最初のヘアカットの場合、その髪の毛を記念にとっておきたいか聞かれます。これは、日本では普通のことのようです！
2. 遊ぶ – 順番待ちの時間、たくさんのおもちゃで遊べます
3. シートベルト着用 – いよいよ順番がまわってきたら、担当者の方がベビーを座らせてくれます。最初にシートベルトを着用します。
4. ガウン – タオルとビニールのダウンがかけられて、髪を切った際に服がよごれないようにしてくれます。
5. DVD – いろんな種類のDVDが用意されてます。あなたのベビーが好きそうなものを是非選んでください。私は、うちの子が大好きな電車のDVDにしました!
6. ヘアカット – キッズ用のヘアカタログがあるので、そこからお気に入りの髪型を選びます。日本はレイアーをいれたカットが主流。もし、それが嫌な場合や、何か他にやってほしい髪型がある場合、ちゃんとそれを伝えましょう。
7. シャンプー – うちの子はいやがるかな、と思ってましたが、意外と大丈夫でした!担当者はとても手際がよかったです。
8. ブロー – うちの子は家で髪をかわかすといやがるのですが、ここでは全然気にしていないようでした!自分専用画面でお気に入りのDVDをみてたからかもしれませんが!! うぷぷ。

10. ヘアジェル – オプションです:)!

これですべて終了!すごくすてきな経験でした。次も絶対ここにつれてこようっと!!
