  • T i p ! Did you know you can walk easily from Shibuya to Harajuku? ✨ ✨ Not many travelers to Tokyo know this, but if you walk from Shibuya Station and go under the train tracks (through this tunnel in the photo) and turn left you can walk straight to Harajuku and Omotesando. It’s one of the many walking routes that I explain in detail in my Tokyo Guide for parents with children! ✨ ✨ Why? Because when your baby falls asleep in the pram, or if it’s a glorious day outside like today, probably the last thing you want to do is to get on the train. So why not walk! It’s fabulous, easy with kids and a stroller, and it’s fun because you can discover the back streets and secret gems of Tokyo! ✨ ✨ If you want to enjoy this walking route with your baby and kids, while knowing exactly where to change nappies or take a break in a child-friendly cafe on the way if you need to, make sure you get my Tokyo Guide!   • T i p ! Did you know yesterday was “Coming of Age” day in Japan? It’s a special day to celebrate turning 20 years old in Japan. If you were here yesterday, you would have noticed girls dressed in the most stunning kimonos everywhere you went!!! I decided to take my kids to Meiji Shrine to make a wish for the new year, and we were so lucky it was also this special day. Many of the girls dressed up were also there with their mothers. This girl in my photo was also having a photo taken by her mother. So sweet!   • T i p ! Are you coming to Tokyo in January? This is what we’re wearing right now! It’s cold and it snowed a little on Saturday night, but we can still go and run around in the park 😜my kids are wearing long pants, long socks, cotton long sleeve top, winter jacket, and if early morning I also put on their scarf and hats. Remember if you are coming with a baby, I highly recommend a footmuff for your stroller and a winter cover for your baby carrier to keep your baby warm. Also remember to take off their blankets and jackets in the train and bus to avoid overheating. Trust me - I’ve been through it all!   • Do you know the best way to enjoy a temple or shrine in Kyoto with your kids? Go there at sunrise! There are no crowds, and your kids can enjoy exploring the temple grounds while you have some “quiet” time for YOU✨This is especially a great idea for kids with jet lag 😜 My kids woke up pretty early in this photo in Kyoto, so we had a quick breakfast and headed up to the temple at 6am. It was amazing!
