And the added plus is the mosquitoes are gone! Hooray! The autumn leaves will be turning all shades of red and orange and yellow soon.   • 3 things you didn’t know about Zojoji Temple in Tokyo: . 1. Six of the Tokugawa shoguns are buried in the temple grounds. ✨ 2. The temple's Sangadetsumon (main gate) is the oldest wooden building in Tokyo, dating from 1622. Not many people know, but the @princeparktowertokyo hotel actually took over to look after this gate. The staff from the hotel come down every morning and evening to open and close the gate. Amazing! ✨ 3. The original buildings, temples, mausoleums and the cathedral (except for the main gate in #2) were all destroyed by fire, natural disasters or air raids during World War II. So what we see is the restoration ✨✨✨ . If you visit Tokyo Tower, make sure you also visit Zojoji Temple at its base. It is amazing!   • T i p ! How to enjoy your breakfast with kids in Tokyo? Make sure you have a breakfast with a view! (and lots of delicious pancakes 😜) . ✨ Here we are at the @princeparktowertokyo enjoying an amazing breakfast with views of Tokyo city and Odaiba. See my stories for the videos! ✨ Despite how it looks, my kids didn’t sit in their chairs like that for the whole time. They lasted about 2 seconds! 🤣 It doesn’t matter whether they are babies, toddlers or 6 year olds. It’s just the same! What I’ve learned is to try not to worry too much. Even if I get a couple of minutes of peace looking out the window at that amazing view of Tokyo, it’s totally worth it.   • T i p ! Do you have a toddler that throws a tantrum sometimes? Or kids that bicker, as kids tend to do on a daily basis? Do what I do! Put them in a bubble bath! 😜 I always find that a good quick bubble bath immediately dissolves any temper tantrum and immediately stops bickering among siblings 🌸 I don’t know why, but it’s something about the playful bubbles and change of mood that makes everyone happy, including mummy! . Now I didn’t take photos of my kids having a bubble bath, but trust me when I tell you I put them in this tub for a bubble bath at least 3 times a day while we were staying at the @princeparktowertokyo 🤣! And this happens at home as well as when traveling. It’s always good to remember that if the sightseeing and cool cafes aren’t going as you planned, always remember you have the choice to simply go back to the hotel, jump in the tub, and relax and have fun with your kids. The great thing about Japan is they have wonderful bathrooms! This bath is quite large but even the small ones are really deep as it’s custom in Japan to soak in the tub like at the onsen, so they are perfect for lots of bubbles! . As an update on my Kyoto Guide, it will be published soon! Can’t wait! We’ve already decided on the front cover and now editing the chapters. I have visited Kyoto with my kids countless times, and I’ve always struggled to find the child-friendly locations (even more than Tokyo!). Kyoto is a very historical town and extremely conservative compared to Tokyo, so it can be hard to navigate with children in tow.   • T i p ! When you’re traveling with kids, you might find that you agree to give them icecream more often then you would normally at home. I think it’s part of the traveling routine 😜 : kids sometimes feel exhausted from all the sightseeing, so a quick trip the park for a run around plus a scoop full of icecream at the corner shop can do wonders to reset the batteries! 🌿🍦🌸🍦🌿 . Luckily Japan has wonderful options for icecream! This organic icecream shop in the backstreets of Aoyama in Tokyo is amazing! The icecream is delicious and mums and dads will enjoy the flavours too:) the backstreets of Aoyama are so beautiful and quiet, so your kids will also enjoy this little oasis from the noise of the streets of Tokyo.
