Many people have been asking me if the cherry blossoms will be in bloom around 10-12 April. My answer is, I think there is a good possibility you will see the tail end of the cherry blossoms!
I am in Kyoto right now, and many people are commenting that it was a cold winter in Kyoto and all the cherry blossoms are slightly delayed compared to last year.
I have noticed it myself, as I went to Kyoto this exact same weekend last year (30 March 2018), and it was in full bloom then. But now (30 March 2019) most of the cherry blossoms are still in buds!
Here is a list of the cherry blossoms stages in Kyoto right now (as of 30 March 2019).
Full bloom:
- Kyoto Gyoen
- Honmanji Temple
- Suika Tenmangu Shrine
- Kodaiji Temple
- Kurumazaki-Jinja Shrine
- Jurinji Temple
Nearly full bloom (not full bloom yet as of 30 March 2019):
- Hirano Jinja Shrine
- Daihoonji Temple
- Higashi Honganji Temple
- Maruyama Park
- Houkongou-in Temple
- Tenryuji Temple
- Shosei-en Garden (Kikoku-tei Mansion)
