Karuizawa Family-Friendly Ski Resort

Karuizawa Ski Resort is awesome!

I had been wanting to come here for a long time, and finally I booked this trip on a 3-day weekend in February to take the opportunity to get out of Tokyo city and have some fun at the snow!

Surprisingly the website doesn’t have alot of information about the child-friendly activities or facilities, so I was blown away by how awesome it was when I got there!

It costs 1,300yen per child to get into the snow park, and it includes:

  • Snow tubing
  • Sledding (extra 500yen to rent a sled)
  • Snowman bouncing castle
  • Snow playground and much more!

They also have ski lessons for elementary school children which was done on some fake grass next to the snow park.

All the activities was very well organized, for example the sledding had 3 lanes and there was staff members who said “Go” in the speaker and helped the kids if they fell off the sled. There were also staff helping with the snow tube, so even though there was a line up, everything moved along quite quickly and we didn’t have to wait for long to enjoy.

The facilities included:

  • Baby nursing room and diaper changing table
  • Family-friendly toilet
  • Rest area for the kids
  • Food cart area

See the video for all the fun!
