3 Tips to survive the summer in Tokyo with your baby!!
1. Dress your baby in light cotton clothing – my favourites are knee-length shorts/skirt with t-shirt (I tend to avoid tank tops on the kids as the air-conditioner in the department stores & trains can be very cold)
2. Umbrella! You will be surprised how many people use umbrellas or parasols to protect themselves from the sun in Japan. This is perfect as they are very handy for protecting your baby, especially if you carry your baby in a sling. I am carrying my 1 year old today (sleeping in the Ergo in the photo!) and my umbrella is awesome for protecting both of us,
3. Humidity – if you are traveling to Tokyo in summer you may be surprised how humid it is here! Make sure you offer your kids lots of water and fluids, and always carry spare clothes to change into. I also give my kids frequent cool showers to freshen them up and to prevent any nappy rash or red skin. The kids love it and keeps them fresh and happy!
