Kyu Asakura House, Daikanyama

Kyu Asakura House is located just a 5 min walk from Daikanyama station. It is tucked away behind Petit Bateau baby shop, surrounded by tall trees and a beautiful leafy green garden. It is so close to the station, but as soon as you walk into the grounds it feel miles away from the city and is so lovely and quiet and peaceful! It only costs 100yen and visitors are welcome to stay as long as they wish – you can sit on the tatami while looking at the veranda onto the Japanese garden, or take a walk around the grounds. Our baby absolutely loved the freedom to crawl around on the tatami mats and explore the rooms in the house. The garden is rich with Japanese maple trees, so is stunning in Spring and Autumn. Definitely a must see!
