Baby-friendly movie cinema

Toho Cinemas – babies welcome!

Toho Cinemas in Roppongi Hills has a new Mama’s Club Theatre screening – created especially for mums and dads and their babies to enjoy watching the latest movies in a stress-free baby-friendly environment! We had a great time – the lights in the cinema are lighter and the sound lower than usual, so you can watch the movie in comfort while looking after your baby. Everything is okay! Including crying babies, nursing babies, gossiping mums (smiles!) and runs to the toilets to change nappies. Highly recommend going with your baby!!

When: Every Thursday (usually at 12:00 – check website for time schedule)
Cost – 1,800yen (tickets can be bought up to 1 week in advance of screening)

Here is the Toho Cinemas Roppongi Hills website.

    Hi again,
I am very interested in the movie with babies. Is the movie in English? With subtitles in Japanese? I’m asking because some countries used to dub to their own language. Thank You! Daniele

Hi Daniele! Thanks for your message. The cinemas in Japan show both types of movies – with dubbing or subtitles, so make sure you check when you buy your tickets. I made that mistake before when I first arrived in Japan – I didn’t realise it was dubbed movie and didn’t understand anything! Best wishes, Kate
